October’s Renaissance Woman

Self portraiture, 2018

To be born in a country that was sealed with the idea of luxury and freedom as I was born into this space in time,

I have been given the opportunity to have 20/20 vision, 2 legs, hands, lungs and more.

I am living a lifetime where I take it slow. In this time, I step in and effortlessly remove my shackles once recognized,

As in here, I make what I want to happen, happen.

I am here to make others feel recognized.

To remind others of how radical their authenticity is.

To bring light into my community, peace to my land.

Slam greens in the grey.

Express through creation.

Laugh hysterically.

Cry in feels.

Love for the love of love.

I am.

Earth based artist, expresses her curiosities through still photographs, songs of heart, movement, writings + more.

Through childhood, Perez remained connected with her surroundings; focusing on senses such as touch and smell.

Absolute adornment towards nature and it’s absurd creations.

Mental storms through cycles led to finding peace in solitude and expression through art.

Finding homes in places such as inner Miami, The Bahamas and New Orleans

Interactions with humans fueled absolute inspiration to record these memories;

in writings, photographs, videos, voice-recordings.

Returning to Florida to pursue a degree, Tracy swept past the walls and scent of chemicals coming from

the photography laboratory at Barry University. Where she earned her Bachelors of Fine Arts ( 2020).

Mentored by photographer and professor, Scott Weber, whom introduced the artist into traditional

photography. Filling her brain with knowledge of light, time, chemistry and stillness.

In this space, working with analog photography was picked up; where the artist later on became

a lab/darkroom tech.

In between winding film, mixing chemicals and loading film in darkness

reflections of time and light curate magic in the artist’s mind-space.
